William ‘Bill’ A. Hedin 62 of Framingham Died on Monday, March 11, 2024 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, MA after a lengthy illness.Bill was born in Marlborough, the son of the late William J. and Philomena (Turieo) Hedin. He graduated from Marlborough High School. He owned and operated Bill Hedin Sports Cards for over 40 years.Bill was a pioneer in the baseball card industry, he started collecting cards at a very young age. He traveled the country with his close friend Bob Thing buying and selling cards. Bob taught Bill all about collecting and selling. By the time he was 18 he had accumulated enough to open his first store with the help of his family. While running his store he also attended Framingham University for 1 year majoring in business. He moved on to help with the writing of the very first price guide for cards. He ran card conventions every weekend until 2008. He then moved on to open an EBAY store where he again became a pioneer in the selling of pocket schedules.Bill was often referred to as the encyclopedia of knowledge on baseball cards and pocket schedules.Bill filled the world with love, he loved with his whole heart. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would do anything to help someone he loved. He was a great man and will be greatly missed by all.Bill is survived by his wife of 10 years, Leslie S. (Parker) Hedin of Framingham, his 4 children, Whitney Hunt and her husband Matt of Byfield, Lindsay Heim of NC, Jonathan Parker of Braintree, Amanda Inglis of Hyde Park, 8 grandchildren, Avery, Samuel, Garrett, Nora, Brandon, Dustin, Leslie and Dahlia, his brother, Daniel Hedin and his wife Beth of Marlborough, his sister Jane Hedin of Danvers, 2 nephews, Tommy and Kyle as well as many friends.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 11 am also in the Funeral Home.
